Crocodile Perfect Shield is a surface-applied, integral crystalline waterproofing material, which waterproofs and protects concrete in-depth. It consists of Portland cement, specially treated quartz sand and a compound of active chemicals. It may be applied to either the pressure or non-pressure concrete face (i.e. with or against water pressure).
Substrate Preparation
• All concrete to be treated must be clean and have an open capillary surface. Remove laitance, dirt, grease, etc.
• Grind-off any paint or coatings to provide an open-capillary structure
• Faulty concrete in the form of cracks, honeycombing, etc. must be chased out, treated Perfect Shield and filled flush with repair mortar.
• Surfaces must be carefully pre-watered prior to Perfect Shield application. The concrete surface must be damp but with no wet sheen on the surface.
Mixing
Crocodile Perfect Shield is mechanically mixed with clean water to a creamy consistency or resembling thick oil. Mix only as much material as can be used within 20 minutes and stir mixture frequently. If the mixture starts to set, do not add more water; simply re-stir to restore workability.
Mixing ratios
Vertical surfaces: Crocodile Perfect Shield 2.5 parts : water 1 part
Horizontal surfaces: Crocodile Perfect Shield 2 parts : water 1 part
Application
• Apply Crocodile Perfect Shield in one or two coats according to specification by masonry brush.
• Horizontal flatwork: applied in one slurry coat to hardened concrete.
• Vertical surfaces: applied in two coats. When two coats are specified, apply the second coat while the first coat 20 minutes.
• The surface should be left to dry at least 24 hours. The treated areas should be kept damp for 3 days.
Estimated Coverage
Vertical surfaces : 1.4-1.6 kg / sq.m with 2 coats
Horizontal surfaces : 1 kg / sq.m with 1 coat
Filling cavities / cavity-fill method
• Drill holes up to 3/4” through the wall at an angle of 40-80°.
• Fill cavities with Crocodile Perfect Shield slurry and seal with Crocodile Protectcrete Mortar.
• Coat the surface of the wall with Crocodile Perfect Shield. Crystals will penetrate from the inside and outside of the wall.
• As the crystalline technology spreads, it continuously and permanently blocks moisture penetration.
Limitation
Do not apply Crocodile Perfect Shield at dry surface. The surface must be damp.
Caution
• Cement may cause injury to skin or eyes. Use of rubber gloves, dust masks, eye protection, and other safety equipment is recommended.
• If contact with eyes occurs, flush immediately and repeatedly with water, and then contact doctor immediately.
• Avoid contact with skin. Wash thoroughly after handling.
• Keep out of reach of children
Storage
• It should be kept in a dry place and the temperature is not too high to avoid product’s degradation.
• Shelf life for 1 year since manufactured date.
