“Jorakay Upcycling” Year 4 – CSR Activity: “Creating Earth Heroes for Zero Waste” for Schools in Saphan Sung District, Bangkok
The “Jorakay Upcycling" Year 4 continues its mission to promote sustainability and community engagement through the CSR initiative “Creating Earth Heroes for Zero Waste.” The program extends knowledge and environmental awareness to surrounding communities near Jorakay’s headquarters by organizing a waste management training workshop for primary school students under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration in Saphan Sung District. Led by expert speakers and Jorakay employee volunteers, the training combines educational materials with interactive activities, helping students learn about:
- Proper waste segregation methods
- Ways to reduce general waste generation
- Recycling techniques to give waste new value
- Positive environmental impacts of proper waste sorting
Through this initiative, the “Jorakay Upcycling” aims to “Build the Next Step” by nurturing environmental awareness and inspiring young people to become waste management heroes. The project encourages students to see sustainability as fun, rewarding, and meaningful — in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly reducing pollution from plastic waste that affects soil, air, water, and overall public health.
