Jorakay Joins Department of Marine in Planting Mangrove Forest, Increasing Carbon Credit on Over 63.5 Rai

          (10 May 2024) Jorakay Corporation Company Limited, led by Mr. Suppapong Phetsuit, Chairman of Executive Committee and President, and others, joined the national mangrove forest activity of 2024, hosted under the concept of “Thailand Mangrove Alliance”, by the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, hosted in Krabi Province with Pol. Gen. Phatcharavat Wongsuwan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Marine and Coastal Resources, as the ceremony chairman.

          On 2nd May, Mr. Jirat Sirichalermpong, Senior Assistant Managing Director as a representative of the board, signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between Department of Marine and Coastal Resources and mangrove forest networks in Thailand.

          This activity is a combined effort of the 33 mangrove conservation networks and private organizations, along with all six coastal community networks to brainstorm the idea for solving the local problems, and create an understanding about carbon credit through mangrove planting.

          Jorakay conducts its business according to the Company’s sustainability policy which gives priority to sustainability from the manufacturing process, by hosting a mangrove forest planting activity named “Bring Green Heart to Plant Forest” or Green Earth on a 63.5-rai plot in Palian District, Trang Province, on 26-28 June 2024, with over 40 volunteer employees participating.
