Crocodile Dryflash Butyl Flashing Tape is an under-ridge sealing sheet designed to cover joints and prevent water leakage beneath ridge and hip roof tiles. It is high-quality aluminum combined with synthetic butyl rubber adhesive, providing excellent adhesion performance. The product offers high mechanical strength, with the aluminum layer reflecting solar heat and providing resistance to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. It exhibits high tear resistance, strong adhesion, and resistance to delamination. The product prevents adhesive creep and deformation, maintaining stable seal geometry. The aluminum structure enables the sheet to be easily formed and conformed to roof tile profiles, ensuring consistent sealing and long-term performance. It helps prevent voids and water ponding over time, making it suitable for roofing applications requiring durability, aesthetics, quality control, and extended service life. The under-ridge sheet can be repositioned during installation for adjustment. The product can adhere to various substrates, including all types of roof tiles, concrete, plastered surfaces, awnings, fiber cement, steel, galvanized metal, metal sheet roofing, U-clamps, and C-line ridge supports.

Substrate Preparation

  • Substrate must be clean and free from oil, dust, and contaminants.
  • Surface must be smooth and free from cracks, spalling, or loose materials; repair defects before installation.

Application Instructions

  • Cut Crocodile Dryflash Butyl Flashing Tape to the required length using scissors or a cutter.
  • Remove the white release film before installation. Start by bonding the center adhesive strip along the ridge or hip line.
  • Apply the side sections on both sides, pressing firmly to ensure full contact with the substrate and adjust positioning as required.
  • Position adjustments can be made within the first 2–3 minutes, as the butyl adhesive achieves full performance after exposure to natural sunlight and heat.

Caution

  • Temperature range for use: 5°C to 40°C
  • Substrate must be dry, clean, and free of air bubbles at the bonding interface
  • Avoid application during rain
  • Keep out of reach of children

Storage

  • Store in a dry, shaded, and well-ventilated area at moderate temperature. Excessive heat may degrade the product.
  • The shelf-life of the unopened original packaging is 36 months from the manufacturing date.
